Meditation Bells app good for
The sounds and variety with Meditation Bells and timer is just what Im looking for. Whats really cool too is that Im able to play the gongs, bowl, and bells with my fingers. If you want to hear the singing bowl, you can use a circular motion as if youre actually using a real bowl. Or just tap on the bowl to hear the tone without "singing" it. Easy to use and setup. Its Free! Thank you!!!!
I like App. Its true that two of the bells dont allow you to "test" the sound but they still work as timers. Certainly getting what you paid for but works well enough to get the job done.
I like this app. a lot. I use it as a timer to start and finish meditation sessions with the wood poll hitting the big bell gong. For an additional $1.99 you get a total of 10 bells and gongs to choose from, and an automatic mode that allows for continuous bell/gong sounds, which I enjoy for calming background "noise" as I read, pay bills, or just lay down to relax. Excellent value.
Some bad moments
I am very disappointed with this app. It is not possible to set the beginning time of the bell as they advertise. It seems that only after paying for an upgrade, it is possible. I clicked "upgrade" and my app started "purchasing" automatically. I stopped it. I dont know how much this upgrade costs.
I installed this to do timed meditations and all it gave me was four bells that I can manually ring, no timer, no automode, none of the promised features. There is am upgrade option which I took for $1.99 but it just gave me more bells. Still no timers, which is useless. The bells are nice but the app is a waste of money of you want timed meditations.
Update: I figured out that the problem is that on my iPhone it wont move to the vertical orientation when I turn the phone upright no matter what, so the controls at the top are cut off. It orients properly on my iPad. But the insight timer is superior.
Not as advertised... Has only four bells, it doesnt work right (they dont all play, actually) and you have to pay a couple of bucks to get whats advertised. I uninstalled this app after a couple minutes.
I purchased the app after trying the free version because I wanted to automate multiple rings. But the first type of bell I tried is awful sounding and stick on auto mode -- I cannot get back to a main menu. All I can do is toggle this bell on and off. Im stuck!! Do not spend money on this app.
When I listen to a Tibetan bell for meditation its to hear the sound until you can hear no more. This app, just as the sounds are fading, just ENDS. The gong sound bad and I cant use the bell for anything. I wont delete the app since I paid for it but I really cant use it for a meditation practice.
